Knitted beanie - wool - naturally dyed

100% lambswool beanie in a fisherman style.

These hats are naturally dyed using ice, which creates beautiful, unpredictable patterns on the fabric. The colours come from madder, cochineal and weld. Each hat is absolutely unique.

These beanies are knitted by me on my vintage knitting machine. The Geelong lambswool is considered one of the highest quality wools in the world: it is extremely soft and non-itchy. The hats are fully fashioned to ensure a close fit to the head and are knitted in English rib, giving them a unique look and allowing for varying head sizes.

• Adult: circumference 50 cm, length 26.5 cm

• Big Adult: circumference 52 cm, length 28 cm

Care instructions Hand wash gently in cool water with a pH-neutral detergent. Dry flat.

A note on natural dyes Natural dyes are often described as “living colour.” They have a charm and personality very unlike chemical dyes, with a much higher energetic vibration of life. This does mean that some colours may vary or fade over time. It is important to treat these heirloom pieces with love and care: keep them out of sunlight when not wearing them and wash them gently with cool water and pH-neutral soap.

Some BillyNou garments are made to order. This is important to our ethos as it helps eliminate waste and unnecessary production. Please allow 2–3 weeks for your garment to be processed. This is an estimate; in reality we endeavour to achieve a much faster production time. This excludes naturally dyed products.

Shipping and customs Items are shipped from France. If you are ordering from outside Europe, please make sure you know your country’s customs rules, as you may be charged import tax upon receiving your items. This is not part of the postage cost and is your responsibility to pay.
