Most Billynou garments are made by me in my small atelier in Provence, using vintage French linen, deadstock and natural organic fibers. With some exceptions where a local seamstress will make some garments and occasionally small batches of ready to wear items are made with my partners and friends in India. All dyeing is done by me in small batches in my kitchen. These are all conscious decisions to keep Billynou slow and intentional, supporting local community where possible and keeping the process human.

Natural dyes are alive and sensitive to light, time and PH. Expect colours to evolve and change over time. This is a beautiful expression of nature at work and one of the reasons I love natural dyes so much.
To care for our naturally dyed garments we can wash them sparingly, by hand or on a cool, gentle wash with PH neutral detergent. Drying them out of direct sunlight.
If you accidentally splash with a PH altering substance - rinse immediately with cool water and then a gentle wash to minimise uneven tones.
If your garment becomes stained, consider overdyeing with another natural dye colour. Layering natural dye colours can have particularly lovely effects.

Yes, most pieces are unique, especially if they have been naturally dyed. No two garments are the same.
This excludes some ready to wear items.
