XS Fairy top / mermaid blue / linen
A lovely summer top with a large, flower‑fairy–inspired frill.
This is a new style for the season — so pretty and flattering. These gathered styles are all individual, cut without a pattern and with virtually no waste. I like to sit with the fabric and decide in the moment details such as the length of the frill, staying true to the oversized vibe BillyNou is known for, while retaining that statement‑piece feel.
This top is a one‑off, made by me from a gorgeous medium/lightweight vintage French linen, sourced in France and naturally hand‑dyed with indigo and weld.
This particular top is a size XS with an above‑bust measurement of 80 cm.
Ellie is size XS/S and 166 cm tall.
Care instructions: Wash cool with a pH‑neutral detergent.
Colours may vary slightly due to lighting.
A note on natural dyes,
Natural dyes are often described as “living colour.” They have a charm and personality unlike chemical dyes, with a much higher energetic vibration of life. This does mean that some colours may vary or fade over time. It is important to treat these pieces with love and care: keep them out of sunlight when not wearing them, and wash them gently with cool water and pH-neutral soap.
Please also note that I use vintage fabric not only for its beautiful qualities but also because it already exists, avoiding the production of new material. This does mean that, even though the utmost care is taken when choosing the fabric, there may occasionally be minimal signs of age.
Most BillyNou garments are made to order. This is important to our ethos, as it helps eliminate waste and unnecessary production. Bearing this in mind, please allow 2–3 weeks for your garment to be processed. This is an estimate; in practice we endeavour to achieve a much faster production time. This excludes naturally dyed garments and garments made with vintage fabric, which are only listed when available.
Items are shipped from France. If you are ordering from outside Europe, please make sure you know the customs rules of your country, as you may be charged import tax upon receiving your items. This is not part of the postage cost and is your responsibility to pay.

All garments should be washed with care. Ideally on a low temperature with an eco detergent (PH neutral for naturally dyed products). This is not just to keep your garment in good condition for longer but to be kinder to the environment too.
Woolen garments should either be dry cleaned or hand washed gently with cool water and dried flat.
